American Bald Eagle Tattoo -
aviary, birds
The adult bird is identified by its white head and tail. Barrel shaped, it has brown to black body feathers and a body length of 31 to 37 inches. It is amazing that a wingspan of a mature bird reaches up to eight feet. The birds develop the contrasting white head and tail only when they become adults. It's interesting to notice that females are considerably larger than males in this species. The average weight of a female is about 14 pounds; males weigh up to 9 pounds. Birds in northern populations are larger than their southern relatives. An american bald eagle tattoo design can sometimes be found on aviary sites featuring various birds.
